For New Theatrical Reviews Only The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times Film Critics do not provide a rating system using stars. Reel.com's and MSN.com's editors closely read those critics' reviews and then attribute a star rating that approximately reflects each critic's general opinion.
MSN's editors also interpret Alpha Reviews from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Four-Star reviews from The Chicago Tribune and The Boston Globe and convert them to 5-Star reviews.
Disparities between reviews from the same source is the consequence of Reel's and MSN's editors unique evaluation of the source review material.
